[Harriet and Tilly’s fine art session}

Mum contacted me back in January for a fine art session for her children Harriet and Tilly.  I save these sessions for the Spring and Summer and as I mostly reserve my slots for Newborn sessions I only have a few slots a year for fine art sessions.  That’s not to say I don’t love them.  Working with children this age is pure joy!  So easy to smile and doing their sessions outside where they can just play whilst I snap away is so much fun.

Harriet and Tilly’s session took place in May and we had a rare day where it hadn’t been raining although it was a bit chilly and there was no sun….it’s amazing how well you can create a sunny day in Photoshop. 😉

Fine art sessions are a little different than a family session, for one there are no parents in the images, it’s all about the kids and my aim is to create timeless images that can be displayed on the walls for decades, a work of art rather than a picture.  That’s why I tell all my clients to make sure their children are wearing something that’s simple and elegant and above all, timeless.

I recommend my clients shop at Monsoon for gorgeous girl dresses as well as Rocco.

And for boys,  again, simple and classic is better.  I recommend Monsoon as well.

If you would like to book a fine are session please click here and I can send you a brochure.

About Me

I'm not sure if it's my love for children or my instinctive need to feed my creative spirit that sparked my interest in photography but I remember as a teenager always wanting to photograph my small cousins and baby brother. They were always in front of the camera as I tried out new lenses and poses.

Now a mother myself, I've developed an even stronger artistic passion. I was told many times how quickly they grow up but it's not until you become a parent yourself do you see just how quick that process is. Photography has become a way for me to document my children as they are right now, capturing every wonderful detail of babyhood and childhood.
